True Spiritual Growth

 Spiritual Growth

“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

(Eli helping me roast)

I remember the day we went off formula. This sugary milk 🥛 like substance was all that would sustain our son (Eli), now he eats something new. On his plate we set a variety of options for him. Just never know what food is going to stick. Life goes from one choice to many.

Life in Jesus is much like that as Christ conforms and through His Spirit convicts of sin, habitual sin. The more joy we have. The depths of the knowledge of God is unsearchable.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” (Romans 11:33)

The journey never ends because the Christian can never exhaust the knowledge of God and the knowledge that he or she can gain in searching out Christ. The Apostle Paul was blown away by Christ. That’s why he exclaimed those words. The problem today that Christian’s don’t admire Christ as they should. If that were true their lives including my own would reflect that admiration.

God has fascinated a great many a  mind through His creation and The Son (Jesus) “His invisible attributes” (Romans 1:20). The cosmos can not be explained more fully comprehended. Along with the captivation of Christ especially in film 🎥  (laying down life for others , goodness, see movies like Harry Potter and Avengers)

What makes a babe in Christ? No growth. As a baby eats solid food so he or she grows. Habitual son, a lack of a hiring sin brings a man back to milk 🥛. The understanding of the destruction of sin is a basic beginning to the Christian, no understanding of this there will be no growth nor desire for godliness and holiness.
