New Season

The "season" is used oftentimes for a person's overall state. State of mind, physical state, moving to a new state. This season is very new, new everywhere. Don't we like new things? Newness is scary at times. People are afraid of what is new, we see depictions of the new kid in school in the movies. Everyone checking him or her out, what's her deal? He's a new cute face. We don’t know him but we like him. Newness is attractive and is also a guarded state. The new venture in which a person chooses or is perhaps it is forced upon places them in a vulnerable position.
I remember in middle school a British exchange student came and all of a sudden he became the coolest guy in school. Cool accent, funny and handsome, apparently it was a deadly combination for the ladies for he was all they could talk about. Jealousy arose inside I told myself "I have seniority", "they know me better than him.", this was the problem a familiar face, familiar voice. New is something I am trying to create, along with the help of my wife, friends, and partners. In the realm of coffee, there is much competition. Some coffees are delicious then one wonders "can I even get close to that?" On a road trip, you stop at a new coffee house, you love the feel, the interior the food which they provide. This memory is etched in the memory bank. Is there a way that something like that can work here in my city? What can we do to stand out? Standing out is what matters these days some succeed based on their persona, Youtube presence, Instagram, Facebook, social media outlets and they survive on this celebrity alone. In a sense, I hope people will read what I write in order to be known and engage the community abroad with like passions.
The question is will a non-profit coffee shop put food in my family's belly? Non-profit? If the majority of the proceeds go to a good cause then why not? Non-profit tacked on to the words "small-business" adds more vulnerability. Combining faith, world, and coffee. These 3 are the mission of the business. The Framework always begins with God in all spheres, personal, social, and public. The true Christian echoes the words of the Apostle Paul "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."(Galatians 2:20). My life is no longer my own it belongs to Jesus, Paul also reminds the Corinthian of this fact in regards to how the Christian is to use their bodies "for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."(1 Corinthians 6:20). Jesus gave me underserved new life now I want to use this life to glorify Him.
As we embark on this new season, we must narrow down as to what cause will the proceeds go to. A need must be filled, I hope that need will first be filled by Jesus yet what can we do to make a better world by the love of Christ? Please be praying for His will.

"For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again." (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)
